tbh
To Be Honest (TBH) has received a lot of hype and can be used by kids and teens for cyberbullying. Please be aware that posts are anonymous so parents should be aware of its installation and child's use.
Sarahah
From a app review from Common Sense Media: parents need to know that Sarahah -- an Arabic word that means, roughly, "honesty" -- is a free social media app popular with teens that enables them to link the app to their Snapchat account (or post a link on other social media sites) and send anonymous messages to other users. It allows you to gather comments from other users, take screenshots of the comments, and share them on Snapchat. It also allows you to send anonymous and totally un-moderated comments to any other user, whether you know them or not. Many users report abusive comments. The app store says Sarahah is rated Teen, but also says users must be over 17 to use it. Note that there are privacy settings, so a teen's account doesn't need to appear in search or receive messages from unregistered users. However, if you download the app and consent, the app will collect your full contact list which the developers can sell. Read the app's privacy policy to find out about the types of information collected, shared and sold.
Monkey
The Monkey app allows kids to have fun chats with new people from all over the world! Users are randomly matched with other users for a brief, introductory video call. When matched with a new person, you can add more time or add the person on Snapchat to continue the connection. Having random conversations with random people is a recipe for disaster and creates temptations and dangers for teens.
Lipsi
As described by the Lipsi Software company, “Lipsi is more than just an anonymous app. It’s a platform that attracts the boldest who want to step out of their comfort zone. Meet new people in class, on campus, in a cafe…Honest thoughts. Real feedback." Netsanity's take - anytime you have a way for anonymous feedback, it is an opportunity to bully - parents be aware.

Though it's rated 17+, the terms of service specify it's for ages 13 and older and forbid sexually explicit and illegal content. Teens can connect via Facebook or Twitter or skip logging in. Survey questions range from "who wore it better," with some images featuring scantily clad women or topless men. That chat rooms are also a danger.

The site describes itself as "the best social platform for creating and viewing live videos". Parents should be aware of the uncensored nature of this app.
Amino: Communities and Groups
The Amino app allows children to pretend to be anything and identify as anything using anime and avatars. So they can be a boy one day, and a girl the next, etc. This allows you to visit different communities and explore. There is already signs of porn as well as inappropriate comments and artwork pictures - this will get worse as the app's adoption rate increases. The minimum age of use is 13, however, we feel that many parents will feel that 13 is too young for most content.
Discord
Discord is another chat app that allows users to chat with strangers. Originally meant for gamers, Discord is an app designed for users talk to each other in real time. While playing a game on their device, users can log into Discord and enter a group chat with one or more other gamers so they can talk while they play. The 3D avatar mimics the user’s voice and movements. Augmented reality is used to place the avatar in real places around the world. Why should parents care? The Mojiit app is in the top 50 most popular social media apps list in the App Store. Since the app is new, most parents might not have heard about it yet. Mojiit uses geolocation and encourages users to go to certain locations nearby. Geolocation features can be very dangerous for teens and tweens because strangers nearby can find the child's exact location. Vendors use emojis on the app to sell physical products, some students may not be aware that some emojis are advertisements.
Hype - Interactive Live Video
Hype – Teens love this unique app for its fancy elements and the ability to add pictures, videos, and music to their broadcasts. With this app, your teen can also view a recorded broadcast, subscribe to feeds, leave stars and comments and check out when a streamer is live. They can even interact live with other viewers and delete saved streams. There are other possible dangers you need to be aware of. Besides the usual hazards discussed in our blog, when the child signs up for Hype, they have the option of creating an account or using their existing Facebook account; if they choose their Facebook account, their full name will be shown to all Hype users. It's best you recommend they create a special sign-in name. The good news is if the child is 13-18 years old, they'll need your permission to use the app.

SimSimi is also anonymous, making it easy for users to leave hurtful comments about others. How does it work? Using artificial intelligence, users can begin a conversation with the chatbot. Users can ask anything and the chatbot will respond. The responses can range from a helpful reply to offensive content.
iFunny :)
Parents need to know that iFunny :) is an image-based joke app that's not for kids or teens. There's enough swearing, sexual banter, soft porn images, and rude and hateful comments to negate anything else in the mix that's remotely funny. Teens might see a friend's posts from iFunny :) on social media and think it's an OK source for jokes when it's actually a minefield of mature content. Since users who want to post jokes give the app permission to access their device's photo album, they can post photos of anyone they've taken a picture of on that device to the app.

Fortnite
While Fortnite graphics are animated and there is no blood or exploding body parts when you shoot someone, it is violent. The ultimate aim is to kill other players with a wide variety of guns and other weaponry. Fortnite does encourage additional in-game purchases, though they're not required to play. While the game doesn't feature any profanity, an area of potential concern is the in-game audio chat which could expose younger players to offensive language from random strangers via voice or via on-screen text chat.
Animal Jam - Play Wild!
Parents need to know that Animal Jam is a virtual-world counterpart to National Geographic Kids magazine. Kids learn about plant and animal life while navigating through Jamaa - a land where the animals are disappearing and the environment needs help. It's fun, but while the site claims to have safe chat, privacy, and parental control features, they don't seem to be fulfilling this promise. Sexual content and bullying is common, filters don't seem to catch bad language, and customer support is difficult to contact. Some of the arcade games may seem too simplistic and a waste of time considering the National Geographic brand, but the features that include information on the natural world balance out the fluff. Paid memberships are promoted, but not overwhelmingly so.
